David Moyes reveals ‘unfortunate’ injury blow

**David Moyes has revealed that Charly Alcaraz is facing up to a month out.**

Alcaraz last featured for Everton in their late draw at Brighton & Hove Albion but was omitted from the match day squad for [Monday’s home loss to Manchester United](https://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/everton-fc/63899-everton-0-1-man-utd-three-talking-points-thierno-barry-harrison-armstrong-jarrad-branthwaite/).

The Argentine midfielder was one of two new absences for the Blues alongside second-choice goalkeeper Mark Travers, who is being assessed for a finger injury.

Ahead of his side’s trip to Newcastle, Moyes confirmed Alcaraz is expected to miss three or four weeks with an unspecified injury sustained on the eve of United’s visit.

He said: “Charly Alcaraz has got an injury which is probably going to keep him out for three or four weeks, we think.

“He picked it up in the last minute of training on Sunday. He was a bit unfortunate.

“He probably would have started on Monday night \[against United\] if he hadn’t picked up that injury.”
