Chelsea’s Andrey Santos has been speaking about whether the Champions League or the Premier League is more difficult in the Brazilian media.
Andrey Santos is one of the first names on the team sheet at Chelsea, just over half a season after returning from a loan spell at Strasbourg.
Steve McManaman even claimed that Santos is even better to watch than Moises Caicedo this season, showing just how well he’s done in a short space of time.
So much so that Santos is even on course to earn a place in Brazil’s squad for the upcoming World Cup in the summer.
He’s been speaking about his time in the Premier League, sharing his surprise at how difficult it is.

Andrey Santos says the Premier League is more difficult than the Champions League
Speaking to GeGlobo, Santos expressed his feelings about the Premier League.
“The Premier League is very difficult, even more difficult than the Champions League.”
Under Enzo Maresca, Santos was struggling, constantly in and out of the side, but it’s a completely different story under Liam Rosenior.
He’s appeared 10 times under Rosenior since his appointment, starting eight of those games.

Andrey Santos’ stats under Liam Rosenior
Benefiting from their established relationship at Strasbourg, Santos has secured eight starts, including high-stakes encounters against Arsenal and Napoli. Under Rosenior, he has been deployed in a preferred double pivot alongside Moises Caicedo, moving away from his previous role.
His statistics highlight a physical dominance, leading the team in duels won and successfully translating his Ligue 1 defensive intensity to the relentless pace of the Premier League.
One slight negative was the fact that he was the player who was believed to be at fault for the goal Chelsea conceded against Burnley.
