Liam Rosenior has proven open to offering struggling Chelsea players a fresh chance at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior wants three first rate strikers available at Stamford Bridge this season but may not need to look far if in search of new blood.

The new Blues boss currently has Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Marc Guiu at his disposal. However, Delap has been linked with a summer exit as he struggles to find form since completing a £30 million move from Ipswich Town last summer.

Delap had managed just three goals in 31 appearances and TEAMtalk recently carried reports of interest from Manchester United, Newcastle United and Everton, should Chelsea be wanting to move the 23-year-old on.

That report claimed that Delap is under pressure to find form at the Bridge before the end of the campaign, or face being shown the door. Rosenior is not thought to be keen on losing Delap and, if the club sell the striker, would require a replacement.

Finding a proven Premier League striker in the transfer window is not an easy task. However, Chelsea already have one man with 24 Premier League goals to his name in Nicolas Jackson.

Nicolas Jackson could target Chelsea redemption under Liam Rosenior

The 24-year-old has become somewhat of a forgotten man at Chelsea, having been shipped off to Bayern Munich on a Deadline Day loan. The German giants have an obligation to sign the Senegal international permanently, but only if certain conditions are met.

CFBayern report that Jackson must start 40 games across all competitions for that clause to be met and, given that he is currently on just 15, it’s likely that he returns to Chelsea. It’s added that Jackson, who Chelsea paid £32 million to sign from Villarreal, has ‘no future’ at Bayern Munich. That could work in Rosenior’s favour.

Jackson is still young and has proven that he knows how to find the back of the net in the Premier League. Rosenior is also willing to pass fresh judgement on players frozen out prior to his arrival - holding personal discussions with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi since arriving in West London.

Reports that there is no future for Jackson at Bayern Munich may appear a blow to the striker’s career but - with Chelsea supposedly willing to sell Delap - the stars could be aligning for a rebirth at Stamford Bridge under Rosenior.
