Marcus Rashford and Barcelona have come to an agreement over his salary, should he join the club permanently this summer. The forward's financial package was said to be a stumbling block that could have stood in the way of a transfer.
Barcelona have an option to sign Rashford at the end of the season for £26millon from United. The Red Devils are standing firm on that figure and Barca have not been deterred.
And now, it appears the Catalan club have made a breakthrough in bringing Rashford's prospective salary in line with their parameters. Spanish outlet SPORT claims a meeting between Barcelona sporting director, Deco, and Arturo Canales, Marcus Rashford's agent, has found a path to agreeing a deal.
Rashford's current salary is said to around €15m (£13.2m) after an initial pay cut to join the club on loan. But Barcelona have agreed to continue negotiating a framework that meets their requirements and have decided they will trigger a summer transfer for the England international.
