And they could fill the wide roles against Nottingham Forest as they return to the Amex.
Data compiled by Gradient Sports, and reported by Sports Illustrated, shows Kaoru Mitoma remains one of the sharpest over a short distance in the Prem.
The numbers highlight the players with the fastest maximum acceleration over the first three metres of a sprint.
Their rankings have Mitoma third in the league in that respect while Diego Gomez also makes the top six.
Bournemouth right-back Alex Jimenez, who did a good job against Mitoma at the Amex recently, is measured as the quickest in the Prem over the first three metres.
He is followed closely by Anthony Gordon and then Mitoma, but there is next to nothing to choose between the in-form Newcastle man and the Seagulls speedster.
To one decimal place, they are both measured at 6.9 metres per second in terms of maximum acceleration.
Then come West Ham full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko, who showed his pace over a longer distance to get on the end of a lethal counter-attack at Everton this week.
And then it is Gomez, whose maximum acceleration is measured at 5.7 metres per second.
Five places further down the list comes Ola Aina, the Nottingham Forest full-back who could face Mitoma at the Amex.
Gomez has yet to settle in a regular, fixed position in Fabian Hurzeler’s side.
But he has qualities which the head coach is clearly keen to fit into his XI where he can and of late that has been on the right-hand side.
Albion fans love the work-rate Gomez puts in and he told The Argus: “Obviously I try to help the team in all aspects wherever it falls for me to play.
“I always try to leave everything on the pitch.
“This is what the coach is asking of me most.
“He is showing a lot of confidence in me, as do my team-mates.
“They always say I have this energy for every match.”
Yankuba Minteh has previously ranked among the fastest players in the Prem in terms of maximum sprinting speed.
He could also have a part to play down the right against Forest.
