Joe Gomez has become the latest answer to Liverpool’s right-back problem after being named in the line-up for the Premier League game at home to West Ham United.
Gomez makes his first start in more than a month as the only change in Arne Slot’s side for the clash at Anfield this afternoon.
Jeremie Frimpong is back in the matchday squad having recovered from a groin problem but is deemed fit enough only for the bench.
With Florian Wirtz having failed to recover from the back problem that saw him withdraw shortly before kick-off at Nottingham Forest last weekend, Dominik Szoboszlai switches to the number 10 role.
Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister continue in the double pivot at the base of the midfield.
Alisson Becker is in goal, with Ibrahima Konate partnering captain Virgil van Dijk at centre-back and Milos Kerkez at left-back.
Up front, Hugo Ekitike leads the line with Mohamed Salah on the right and Cody Gakpo continuing on the left. Youngsters Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni are once again on the bench.
LIVERPOOL (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Ekitike.
Subs: Mamardashvili, Woodman, Chiesa, Jones, Robertson, Frimpong, Nyoni, Ramsay, Ngumoha.
