All you need to know about Erling Haaland's injury for Manchester City

Haaland injury: Erling Haaland was a significant omission from the Manchester City squad for their Premier League match against Leeds United today after sustaining a minor injury during training.

Training injury: The striker remained at home after picking up a fitness concern that surfaced late in the week, forcing him to miss the trip to Elland Road.

Pep speaks: Pep Guardiola addressed the situation by stating that Haaland suffered a "little injury" and some discomfort in the final moments of a training session two days ago. He emphasised that while the issue is not considered major, the player was simply not in a condition to be involved in today's fixture.

Return plan: Haaland is tentatively expected to return for the home match against Nottingham Forest this coming Wednesday. Reports suggest his omission today was largely precautionary to ensure he does not aggravate a minor knee issue during a busy period.

Games he could miss: If his recovery stalls, he could potentially miss a demanding run of high-stakes fixtures, including the FA Cup fifth round against Newcastle and a massive Champions League tie with Real Madrid. Losing him for these knockout games would be a significant blow to City's hopes of securing another treble this season.

Arsenal boost: This injury development is, however, a boost for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta’s side face Chelsea tomorrow evening and will be hoping for a City stumble.
