Benjamin Sesko collects award double after best month yet at Man Utd

It has taken a few months of adaptation and a managerial shift, but Benjamin Sesko is now a worthy winner of two accolades given by Manchester United.

Perhaps the biggest question facing Michael Carrick is whether or not to start Benjamin Sesko when Manchester United hosts Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Despite scoring three goals for United since Carrick returned as head coach, Sesko has yet to start a game for the 44-year-old.

That could change this weekend as Sesko continues to knock on Carrick’s door with impressive displays and goals from the bench.

Benjamin Sesko wins Man Utd Player of the Month

Sesko scored three goals in February. All of them were dramatic, late and crucial.

Making an incredible impact from the bench, Sesko began the month of February with a late winner against Fulham.

The Slovenian scored another late goal against West Ham to salvage a point, with that finish being voted United’s Goal of the Month.

On Monday night, Sesko added to his tally with a match-winner against Everton after coming on as a substitute.

That means Sesko scored three goals from four substitute appearances in February, which was enough to earn him the Player of the Month award for the first time since his transfer from RB Leipzig.

Sesko saw off competition from Senne Lammens and Harry Maguire for the award, receiving 61% of the fans’ vote.

Lammens, who was terrific against Everton, picked up 33% of the vote.

Meanwhile, Maguire came away with just 6%.

Sesko will be looking to build on his form in February by having a strong month in March. It starts with a game against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Man Utd trio win Premier League awards

Three United players received Premier League awards at Carrington on Thursday.

Medallions were given to Casemiro, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

Brazilian duo Casemiro and Cunha received theirs for surpassing 100 Premier League appearances.

Mbeumo got his prize for scoring 50 Premier League goals, although most of those goals were scored during his time at Brentford.

The only other United player with 50+ Premier League goals in the current squad is Bruno Fernandes, on 68.
