Did you know only five West Ham United players – Jarrod Bowen among them – have ever hit double figures in terms of assists in a single Premier League season?
Captain Bowen recorded ten assists in two campaigns; 2021/22 and 2024/25.
Eyal Berkovic also topped the charts twice at West Ham United. Paolo Di Canio, Dimitri Payet and Matty Holmes make up a pretty exclusive club.
If El Hadji Malick Diouf is to become the sixth member, he will need to provide five more assists in what is destined to be a nail-biting final ten Premier League matches of 2025/26.
Who was West Ham’s STAND OUT player at Anfield? 🌟
Was anyone better than Fernandes?
West Ham United's Portuguese midfielder #18 Mateus Fernandes (L) vies with Liverpool's Dutch midfielder #38 Ryan Gravenberch (R) during the English Premier League football match between Liverpool and West Ham United at Anfield in Liverpool, north west England on February 28, 2026.
Unlikely, maybe, but still possible.
After going 13 games without one between the end of the Graham Potter era and his African Cup of Nations success with Senegal, Diouf now has two in his last four outings.
Diouf assisted Taty Castellanos’ first Premier League strike at Burnley three weeks ago. While still a relative newcomer to the London Stadium, the cross converted by the grateful Argentine is one the Hammers fans have become very accustomed to.
Out of his feet, and whip. Forget ‘Bend it like Beckham’, this is ‘Dip it like Diouf’.

The £19 million signing from Slavia Prague took his tally to five when his drilled delivery was tapped in by Tomas Soucek as West Ham lost 5-2 at Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.
This means that Diouf has now provided an assist in exactly one quarter of his top-flight appearances for the Londoners.
Furthermore, no full-back in the competition can match his tally at this stage of the season. Jurrien Timber can draw level, though, when Arsenal face Chelsea on Sunday.
How far can Malick Diouf go? And what does he need to do to become a world-class left-back?
West Ham United's El Hadji Malick Diouf during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Aston Villa at London Stadium on December 14, 2025 in London, England.
Diouf will be in very impressive company should he finish 2025/26 as the most potent provider of goals from full-back. Others to have topped the charts include Trent Alexander-Arnold, Leighton Baines, Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier.
Antonee Robinson, Fulham’s USA speedster, made the most last season with ten.
Fortunately, Ollie Scarles’ impressive run in the team during AFCON meant the former Slavia Prague starlet was perhaps not missed as much as some had feared.
Still, Diouf’s ‘sensational’ attacking displays are a reminder of the supreme quality West Ham now have on the left-hand side. Not since Aaron Cresswell’s heyday have they possessed a full-back with such devilish quality.
