The Spain midfielder showed his experience as City controlled the possession at Elland Road in a tight encounter.
Former Ballon d’Or winner Rodri missed most of last season with a cruciate knee injury and Guardiola has been careful with his return.
But he shows his quality in the victory over Leeds alongside Bernardo Silva as the experience showed to collect a vital three points as we moved to within two points of the Premier League summit.
“What can I say? With him and Bernardo,” Guardiola said. “They make these actions right or left with the pressing its so difficult to defend it that way.
“ What a player Rodri is. I’m happy. We missed him a lot for a long, long time. Step by step he’s coming back to his best.”
