Man United legend Wayne Rooney explains how Henrik Larsson made him support Celtic ever since he was a child.
Rooney played for Everton and Man United but the former England striker also admits that one of his biggest career regrets was not playing for Celtic.
And the reason? Rooney was a big Celtic fan growing up, and still is to this day, as the former Man United icon explains the reasons why he has the Hoops in his heart.

Celtic hero Henrik Larsson blew Wayne Rooney away
Larsson will always be an icon to every single Celtic fan, but for Rooney, it was the super-Swede that made Rooney love the green and white Hoops.
Rooney told BBC Sport, “Just growing up as a kid I’ve always liked Celtic. I’ve just always liked Celtic. My dad, my family, everything.
“When I was growing up, obviously there was Henrik Larsson and Chris Sutton up top, John Hartson when he was there.
“Some of the players Celtic have had and moments they’ve given us is incredible. During the best part of my career I always thought I’d love to play for Celtic at the end of my career, and it obviously wasn’t to be.”

What Wayne Rooney really thinks of Celtic legend Larsson
We told earlier this week how Rooney admitted he got it all wrong about Celtic legend Larsson.
Here is what the former Man United star said, “Yeah, it was mad. And not to the extent, obviously, where I played with Duncan Ferguson, but watching Henrik growing up and then all of a sudden, he comes to us on loan and I’m playing in front of him.
“And do you know what, he was better than what I thought. Because when you’re watching him play for Celtic and not to sound disrespectful, you’re thinking, ‘Oh, it’s in Scotland, it’s Scottish football, it’s not as good as the Premier League’. And then he come in to play with us.”
Larsson has given Celtic fans many incredible memories over his seven years in Paradise.
And now that Rooney admits it was the Swede who turned him into a Celtic fan, you have to wonder how many other famous footballers now follow the Bhoys because of the iconic Hoops striker.
