Everton have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth, with word also arriving about a potential asking price.
Everton fans watched on yesterday as both of the club’s strikers – Thierno Barry and Beto – got on the score sheet in the thrilling 3-2 win over Newcastle United.

Beto started the game, and put Everton 2-1 ahead. Then in the second-half, Barry bundled the ball in to make it 3-2.
But there remains concern about the pair as long-term options – and the club will almost certainly swoop for a new centre-forward this summer.
And it seems Sorloth is a player of interest.
Everton eyeing Alexander Sorloth summer move
Everton are looking at Alexander Sorloth, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
The Norway international is not a regular at the Wanda Metropolitano, and will have two years left on his contract this summer.
Despite not always starting, it’s still been a fruitful campaign for him. He’s scored 15 across all competitions so far, which is more than Beto and Thierno Barry combined for Everton (11 in all competitions).

It’s stated that Sorloth is fancied by Moyes’ scouts, and that ambitious plans are being made for a summer pursuit.

Sorloth will be a name familiar to some Everton fans, as he previously played in the Premier League with Crystal Palace. He scored just one goal in 20 appearances.
He’s had a very good spell in Spain, hitting 39 goals in 89 games for Atleti.
Nixon adds that Atletico would probably sell in the £25 million range, which is potentially a steep price for a 30-year-old.
Sorloth’s style of play
It will come as little surprise to fans that Sorloth is an imposing striker, standing at 6ft 5in tall.
Naturally, given his physical build, Sorloth is a big threat in the air. Indeed, in 2024 Breaking The Lines ran a feature on him and described his aerial ability as ‘exceptional’. At the time, he was in the 99th percentile for aerial duels won (out of other La Liga strikers).

The feature made it clear though that Sorloth is not really a player who comes deep to get involved in build-up play.
So the creativity side of his game is not so prominent, as evidenced by the fact he only has three assists in his 89 games for Atleti so far.
