Leeds United boss Daniel Farke will appeal his red card following his side's home defeat to Manchester City - and ask the FA to review 'ref cam' footage in a bid to get it overturned.

Farke was dismissed after the final whistle at Elland Road as he approached referee Peter Bankes. But Farke claims the card was brandished before he had even said a word to the officials.

The German was left stunned by the decision - and can be seen asking Bankes what he had been dismissed for.

Farke has spoken to club officials about what happened - and believes footage from the camera Bankes had clipped to his ear for the game, will prove he did nothing wrong.

It's understood Leeds will lodge an official appeal to the FA. And the club believe there is a strong chance video footage will prove Farke has no case to answer.

Farke is now facing a ban, but is still expected to be on the touchline for Tuesday's crucial home game with Sunderland, because his case will not be dealt with in time.

Leeds assistant boss Edmund Riemer defended Farke. He said: "I am disappointed because he's never a manager who's over aggressive or over reacting. I think it's a very harsh decision."
