Brighton star returns for the first time this season as Fabian Hurzeler XI vs Nottingham Forest …

Brighton and Hove Albion vs Nottingham Forest in the Premier League from the Amex Stadium - Sunday, 2pm

There was a welcome inclusion to the matchday squad as Fabian Hurzeler confirmed his starting XI to face Nottingham Forest.

Solly March has not featured all season due to persistent knee issues but made the matchday squad for the first time since April 2025, where he featured for an hour against West Ham.

March has been back in full training for the past few weeks and has also featured for the under-21s.

His return will be a huge boost for Brighton as they look to follow last week's 2-0 win at Brentford. Homegrown talent March is sure to get a huge reception if he makes an appearance from the bench.

In fact Hurzeler has gone with the same starting XI from Brentford, which means James Milner starts in the centre of midfield and in doing so makes his 900th club appearance from a remarkable career.

Danny Welbeck, 35, starts up front, with 34-year-old Pascal Gross in midfield. Welbeck will hope to get his 10th Premier League goal of the season today.

Skipper Lewis Dunk, 34, continues to play through niggles and takes his place at the heart of the defence alongside Jan Paul van Hecke. Dunk turned down a move to Nottingham Forest last month.

Mats Wieffer retains his spot at right back with Georginio, Carlos Bakeba and Yankuba Minteh all on the bench.

Brighton XI: Verbruggen; Wieffer, Van Hecke, Dunk, Kadioglu; Hinshelwood, Milner, Gross; Gomez, Welbeck, Mitoma. Subs: Steele, March, Rutter, Minteh, Baleba, Kostoulas, Boscagli, De Cuyper, Veltman.

Seven changes for Forest

Meanwhile, Forest boss Vitor Pereira makes seven changes after Thursday’s Europa league second-leg defeat by Fenerbahce.

Matz Sels is back between the sticks after injury. Midfielder Morgan Gibbs-white, winger Callum Hudson-Odoi and striker Igor Jesus are back in the XI. Ola Aina, Nikola Milenkovic and Ibrahim Sangare all start.

Nottingham Forest XI: Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams; Sangare, Anderson; Hutchinson, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Igor Jesus Subs: Gunn, Awoniyi, Ndoye, Dominguez, Yates, Cunha, McAtee, Netz, Bakwa.
