How many more away wins Everton need to break their single season Premier League club record

It’s no secret that Everton have been brilliant away from home under David Moyes – and the club are creeping closer to their single season record.

While Everton have encountered some issues back at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, it’s been a very different story on their travels.

Who was your Man of the Match from that incredible game? 🤩

Not sure how you're going to only pick one…

The Toffees were triumphant once again yesterday, this time beating Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.

It was a thrilling game that Everton edged, with big thanks to Jordan Pickford at the end for a world-class save.

It really has been great to see Everton thrive on the road, but what is the club’s record for most away victories in one Premier League season?

Everton have now won seven games away from home in the Premier League this season.

And the latest win has nudged the Toffees ever closer to the club record, which stands at nine – set by two managers.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

Roberto Martinez masterminded nine Premier League away wins back in the 2013/14 season, helping the club go on to finish fifth.

This record was then matched by Carlo Ancelotti in the 2020/21 season, with the Italian ultimately guiding Everton to 10th.

One more victory on the road for Everton this season would actually see Moyes equal his own personal record of away wins in one season for the Toffees. He managed eight in 2008/09.

So Moyes looks likely to at least equal his own record of Premier League away wins in a single season for Everton.

And there does appear to be a great chance for him to match the record that’s jointly held by Martinez and Ancelotti.

Everton have five away games left in the Premier League, which are as follows:

vs Arsenal – March 14

vs Brentford – April 11

vs West Ham – April 25

vs Crystal Palace – May 9

vs Tottenham – May 24 (final day)

There are home games in between each of these, meaning an alternating pattern now until the end of the season.

There are undoubtedly some tricky away games left to play. The next two against Arsenal and Brentford are arguably the most difficult. But the Toffees have strong records at the London Stadium and Selhurst Park.

Everton have really shown this season that they go to difficult grounds and get a result.

Ideally, the Toffees will also pick up some points at home in between, which should provide good momentum for the away trips.
