Speaking after Man Utd’s Premier League encounter with Palace on Sunday, Fernandes talked up the importance of “confidence” for a player like Sesko.

“He is a very good player,” Fernandes said, as per the Premier League’s official website.

“He just needed to find his confidence and I think he can still do much, much better.

“He is a kid who always wants to improve; he isn’t happy with just a goal. He is aware he has to score week in and week out at this club and he is doing that.

“Everyone at the club is happy with his progress.”

Speaking on the latest United win amid his praise for Sesko, Fernandes added: “It feels like a big result. We were behind, so we had to show some character.

“In the second half, we were more brave with the ball and the pressing. The results give us the chance of getting third, but there are a lot of games still to go.

“We have a lot to do and it is important we don’t feel like we are already in the place we want to be; there are still a lot of points to go.”

Sesko played 75 minutes of the Red Devils’ Premier League clash against Palace on Sunday before United interim boss Carrick subbed him off for winger Amad Diallo.
