Manchester United legend Gary Neville was granted his wish of Benjamin Sesko starting for the side in their Premier League win over Crystal Palace. The striker was named in the starting XI for the first time under Michael Carrick.
The decision followed him coming off the bench to score the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Everton six days ago. Having been given a chance from the start, Sesko took it with both hands.
Despite Palace taking an early lead in the first half, United got back into the game when they were awarded a penalty in the second period. The incident also saw Palace reduced to ten men.
With the score at 1-1, Sesko stepped up in the 65th minute to place his header past Dean Henderson and grab the advantage for United. It again turned out to be the winning goal.
The goal was Sesko’s eighth in the Premier League this season. It comes after Neville led calls for him to be in the starting XI.
Speaking on Stick to Football this week, he said: “In terms of Sesko he’s going to play him at the weekend, you would think now, he’s definitely grown, a little bit like [Viktor] Gyokeres in these last few weeks.”
The former full-back also suggested that the striker looks ‘quicker and more powerful’ compared to earlier in the season.

It was averdict that former United teammate Roy Keane agreed with. Back in December, Keane highlighted the big thing that he wanted from Sesko, which he has now got.
After the striker missed a one-on-one opportunity in the 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa, he said: "We talk about players' confidence, these are big moments.
"When it comes to him did we actually believe he was going to score? Did he believe he was going to score?

“A player with a bit more confidence, these are big chances for a player trying to get his career up and running and he has really got to take them. The only encouragement I have for him is he has had one or two chances, so that will lift his spirits a little bit."
His current goalscoring record, including two winning goals in his last two games, show that he is now a player full of confidence. United will hope it continues when they return to action on Wednesday night when they take on Newcastle United at St James’ Park (8:15pm kick off).
