Chelsea picked up another red card today, their 7th of the season in the Premier League alone. It’s a disgrace, and Matt Law isn’t happy.

The Daily Telegraph’s Matt Law was on the London is Blue podcast following Wesley Fofana’s red card last weekend, and he spoke about how Chelsea’s terrible discipline – and more pertinently their stubborn refusal to accept (under several managers) that they have a problem.

“Every time we ask anybody at the club about the disciplinary issue, they never want to take accountability. They never want to call anybody out over it. And it’s really, really annoying,” Law said.

“Because it’s killing Chelsea. And it’s so ridiculous and avoidable. It might be the first of Rosenior’s reign. But they’ve continued to pick up ridiculous yellow cards in Rosenior’s time.

Well, a few days later, it’s happened again. Pedro Neto got two yellows against Arsenal today, killing his team’s chances of getting a result. As you’d expect, Matt Law was straight on Twitter to call out the stupidity

“It can’t even be attributed to inexperience or youth. Pedro Neto and Wesley Fofana are two of Chelsea’s older players and they’ve been sent off in successive weeks. It’s just pure stupidity.”

We couldn’t agree more, Matt. We’re even more annoyed than he is.

In other news…

Pedro Neto’s utterly stupid second yellow for a lunge was one of the most infuriating moments of the season so far.

Liam Rosenior was being teased before the game by the fourth official about his complaints in the EFL Cup game last month.
