Brighton make Solly March admission after Nottingham Forest win

Reaction from Brighton’s 2-1 win against Nottingham Forest

It was a good day all round for Brighton. The Seagulls enjoyed a 2-1 win victory against Nottingham Forest and Solly March also returned to first team action.

March was introduced on 81 minutes as he replaced Diego Gomez and made his first outing since April 2025 after persistent knee injuries.

"I have to give the praise to my medical department," said Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler after goals from Gomez and Danny Welbeck sealed back to back Premier League victories.

"Being a physio, being a rehab coach, being a doctor, it's not only guiding a player through a bad time, it's really being there as a supporter, going with the player through tough emotional moments.

"It's not only that you're there as a rehab coach or there as a physio, you really have to be a person who guides this player through this tough injury, through this tough time.

"They're always alone on the pitch, so therefore I really have to praise my medical team to get him back as quickly as possible and in this shape."

Fans gave March a tremendous reception

March is a homegrown talent and fans have had to patient as well to see their man back on the pitch. The 31-year-old received a tremendous reception at the Amex as he took to the field against Forest.

Hurzeler told Sussex World: "I know that it means a lot for him, because I know what this club means for him.

"He plays now for a long time for Brighton, he's a Brighton boy and therefore we're all pleased that he's back in his shape.

Hurzeler did though admit that he will be patient with March and said there is still plenty of work for him to do.

"He's not in his best shape, this will need time, we have to be patient. We have to go step by step, but I think today was the first good step."
