Manchester United have impressed under Michael Carrick since he took temporary charge of the club following Ruben Amorim's sacking earlier this year. The interim head coach has consolidated the club's place in the top-four and that's without strengthening the squad in the January transfer window.

Though much of United's focus is on bringing in a new manager on a permanent basis, there is plenty of chatter ahead of the summer transfer window regarding incoming and outgoing players.

It remains to be seen who will rubber stamp those decisions, let alone whether a new manager will agreed with potential targets or sales.

Here the Manchester Evening News takes a closer look at the latest transfer speculation at Old Trafford:

Marcus Rashford 'sacrifices' to secure United exit

Teamtalk claims Marcus Rashford has agreed a deal in principle to complete a permanent move to Barcelona, though nothing has been signed.

The United loanee has reportedly made two sacrifices to ensure he's playing for the Blaugrana next season, the first of those being a reduction in wages, and the second, agreeing to forgo some bonuses from his contract.

There's said to be an urgency to complete the move, with the two clubs agreeing to a £26.9m option-to-buy in the current loan agreement.

Joan Laporta is expected to be reinstated as club president, and one of his first moves is expected to be the permanent signing of Rashford, who has made 35 appearances in all competitions with 10 goals and 13 assists to his name.

The MEN says: "It's not really much of a suprise to see Rashford's permanent move to Barcelona back in the media given his impressive goal scoring return. It seems nailed on he'll be playing at the Nou Camp next year, barring any financial complications at the La Liga club."

Altay Bayindir 'edging closer' to United departure

Football Insider claims Altay Bayindir is pushing for a move away from Old Trafford this summer having spent the majority of the campaign playing second fiddle to Senne Lammens.

Turkish side Besiktas are said to be interested in signing the 27-year-old goalkeeper, who has made just 17 appearances in all competitions for the club since joining in 2023.

Bayindir is said to be keen on regular football and a return to Turkiye would be a likely solution.
