Famous Man United names set for Rovers legends charity rematch

The Eve Merton Legends Match returns to the Eco-Power Stadium this May - and it will once again see a clutch of former Manchester United stars take on Doncaster Rovers heroes from days gone by.

As was the case last year, Rovers Legends will once again face off against United Legends, comprising of players to have represented the red half of Manchester.

Each summer since 2013 (aside from 2020 owing to the pandemic), the Eco-Power Stadium has hosted the 'legends' fixture to raise funds for the Eve Merton Dreams Trust. The local organisation helps dreams come true for cancer patients and their families. Whilst the identities of those involved is being kept under wraps for now, it's possible the likes of Ryan Giggs and John O'Shea could once again feature.

Last year's Legends match raised more than £150,000 with thousands of fans turning out to watch a 5-5 draw between the two sides.placeholder image
