Manchester United have picked out their top 3 Casemiro replacements

Manchester United are going to be one of the biggest buyers of midfield talent in the summer 2026 transfer window, and nobody would be surprised if they landed two top class options to bolster their squad this year.

According to a report from Edu Burgos of Diario AS, Manchester United have a budget of 200 million euros prepared to address their midfield, and they are specifically looking to replace the legendary Casemiro, who may be ready to move on to the final stage of his career this summer.

Burgos says that Man United have narrowed down their list of five candidates they are interested in to a top three. Newcastle United stars comprise the majority of the list in Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes, who are the two biggest dream names for Premier League clubs looking for a new midfielder.

The third member of the top three is Elliot Anderson, the biggest breakout No. 8 in the league this season. A star for Nottingham Forest, Anderson figures to be the subject of a heated transfer battle between crosstown rivals Man United and Manchester City.

And the two players on the outside looking in? Manchester United are also looking at Crystal Palace’s young and in demand No. 6 Adam Wharton, as well as Wolves breakout Brazilian defensive midfielder Joao Gomes.

Conspicuous by his absence is Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, who was touted as the dream target before the 2025/26 season started but may have fallen off the radar due to a disappointing campaign.

In all honesty, Man United won’t go wrong with these five players. Ideally, they would land a top No. 6 and an 8 from this list. You could only imagine the insanity if they were abel to pull off a double swoop from their top three, such as Tonali and Anderson together.
