Newcastle United injuries: The latest on Tino Livramento, Jacob Ramsey, Nick Woltemade, Bruno Guimaraes, Lewis Miley, Fabian Schar and Emil Krafth.
Newcastle United face Manchester United at St James’ Park on Wednesday evening (8:15pm kick-off) with a squad depleted by injuries.
The Magpies are set to be without several key players as they look to end a four game domestic losing streak at St James’ Park.
Ahead of the game, Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe said: “We've been slightly unlucky with a few injuries that have really impacted us and then you look at the defenders out injured at the moment and that's tough for any team to absorb, especially when you're playing every three days.”
Newcastle will be hoping to have at least one doubtful player available for the Manchester United game on Wednesday night.
Jacob Ramsey - illness
Ramsey was forced off during Newcastle’s 3-2 defeat at Everton due to illness at half-time in the match.
He has since returned to training and is expected to be involved against Man United on Wednesday.
Expected return date: Manchester United (H) - 04/03

Nick Woltemade - illness
Another player who has suffered with illness is Nick Woltemade, who is a major doubt for Wednesday’s match having not trained on Monday.
Expected return date: Manchester City (H) - 07/03
Tino Livramento - hamstring
Tino Livramento is approaching two months out with a hamstring injury but has been back on the grass over the past week and is pushing to be back in contention.
Wednesday’s match could come too soon for him but he is understood to be very close to a return.
Expected return date: Manchester City (H) - 07/03
Lewis Miley - leg
Lewis Miley has been out for five weeks following a leg injury that was initially diagnosed as a ‘dead leg’ but has since materialised as muscle damage to his thigh.
The teenager is expected to miss Newcastle’s next four matches but will look to be back involved for the trip to the Nou Camp in the Champions League.
Expected return date: Barcelona (A) - 18/03
Bruno Guimaraes - hamstring
On Wednesday, Newcastle will be searching for their first Premier League win without Guimaraes since the Brazilian made his debut for the club four years ago.
It’s a unfortunate record that the side will have to address if they have any hope of salvaging their league season given their captain is set to be sidelined until April at the earliest.
He is currently in Brazil working on his recovery and will return to Newcastle for the final month of his rehabilitation process.
Expected return date: AFC Bournemouth (H) - 18/04
Fabian Schar - ankle
Fabian Schar has been out since suffering an ankle injury in Newcastle’s 4-3 win over Leeds United back in January.
The injury required surgery and Schar was given a three-month recovery timeframe. Given the nature of his injury and the fact he is yet to return to training, a specific return date is unclear though he will be expected to be back in contention before the end of the season.
Expected return date: Arsenal (A) - 25/04
Emil Krafth - knee
Emil Krafth suffered a knee injury back in November which was initially played down but later required surgery that has ruled him out for the remainder of the season.
Expected return date: Summer 2026
