Rio Ferdinand has revealed what he’s heard surrounding Manchester United’s reaction to Leny Yoro’s early error against Crystal Palace.
Manchester United’s unbeaten run continued on Sunday afternoon as Michael Carrick’s men came back to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Benjamin Šeško made sure that the early Maxence Lacroix goal did not hurt them as they secured three points to rise to the Premier League table.
However, some discussion has since arisen about Leny Yoro’s poor defending in the opening minutes, which led to Lacroix’s goal, with the young centre-back failing to mark his compatriot during a corner.
Starting his second game in a row following an injury to Lisandro Martínez, Yoro played alongside Harry Maguire.
Ferdinand reveals United’s reaction to Yoro mistake
While the error was undeniably a blatant one, Carrick and his staff will no doubt have put an arm around Yoro, told him he played well for the rest of the tie, and left any analysis for the next morning.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, former United defender and big Yoro champion, Rio Ferdinand, has explained what he’s heard about United’s internal reaction to Yoro’s moment.
“The thing for me that I’m hearing now is that they will be going over that goal,” Ferdinand said. “That goal will be dissected by Jonathan Woodgate and Jonny Evans. This is where you went wrong; this is how you prevent it from happening next time.
“That’s an important factor I’m hearing coming out of the current regime.”

Should Heaven be given a chance?
There is also an argument to be had on whether Ayden Heaven should be given a chance either next to or over Yoro in the coming match against Newcastle.

One reason why Martínez is so pivotal in United’s back line is that his left foot can open up new passing and progression lanes, whereas having Maguire and Yoro, both right-footers, at the back limits United in build-up.
Heaven is left-footed, but is also very good at dealing with aerial duels and physical battles, whereas Yoro can sometimes have this as a shortcoming.
It may be better to have Heaven in the back line on Wednesday evening, and if Maguire is injured, this could be alongside Yoro. But if the former is fit, heaven should be paired with Maguire.
