Manchester United team news and injury latest

Harry Maguire - 4 March vs Newcastle (A)

Maguire was taken off in the final minutes of the weekend win against Crystal Palace and is expected to be named in the squad to face Newcastle in midweek. He should be fit enough to start the match.

Luke Shaw - 4 March vs Newcastle (A)

Shaw was taken off midway through the first half as United defeated Crystal Palace. Michael Carrick insists his withdrawal was down to illness rather than injury and it is hoped he will be in the squad at Newcastle.

Lisandro Martinez - 15 March vs Aston Villa (H)

Martinez has missed the previous two matches with a minor calf injury and is not expected to be back against Newcastle in midweek. He should be back later in the month when United host Aston Villa.

Mount has now missed five matches due to a minor training injury. He won’t be available against Newcastle this week, but there is hope he will be back against Aston Villa next week.

Matthijs De Ligt - 11 April vs Leeds (H)

De Ligt has endured a lengthy lay-off after his back injury late last year. He has missed 16 matches across all competitions, and there is still no clarity on when he might return. It might not be until after the March international break.

Dorgu has missed five matches since he suffered a hamstring issue in the away win over Arsenal. He was initially expected to be out until the March international break and could return to face Leeds in April.
