Speaking to the media this week, Carrick has hinted that United could look at signing a left-sided attacker in the summer transfer window. The United boss has reiterated that Amad Diallo and Matheus Cunha are options in that position, but he's failed to rule out the club strengthening in that area later this year.
“It's something to look at [signing a left-winger]. I think Matheus [Cunha] can play in that position. Amad can do it too. We have very good options all over the front line.”
It's interesting for Carrick to be discussing recruitment, despite the fact that he might not be there next season, possibly hinting that he might be staying in the dugout longer than his current contract.
