New Man Utd scout Ian Broomfield led Gareth Bale deal, Ineos want him to repeat Ayden Heaven success

Manchester United have confirmed the appointment of highly-rated scout Ian Broomfield and the former Tottenham man is responsible for some impressive transfer business.

As per The Athletic, Manchester United have hired Ian Broomfield as a casual scout covering the under-21 market.

It is the latest part of Ineos’ behind-the-scenes shake-up to the academy system. Following his stint as interim head coach, Darren Fletcher has returned to the Under-18s. Adam Lawrence has returned following his disappointing spell at Newcastle United.

Broomfield previously worked with Tottenham as the head of scouting, but his extensive career also includes time at Leeds United and Aston Villa.
