Aston Villa have now held talks to sign an "incredible" Premier League star in the summer transfer window, with Unai Emery considered a huge fan.
Villa enter discussions to sign new forward
Villa have suffered a dip in form over the past few weeks, most recently losing 2-0 against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, on a night where Jadon Sancho failed to impress, being withdrawn on the hour mark, after failing to get a single shot away.
Sancho completed just one of the three dribbles he attempted against Rob Edwards' side, with former striker Gabriel Agbonlahor taking to X to describe the winger's performance as 'very poor', which raises doubts about whether the Villans should sign him on a permanent basis.
Emery has previously hinted he could be willing to sign the Chelsea ace if he rediscovers his best form, saying: "He is a fantastic player. Hopefully, he can help us by increasing his qualities in our structure, like he is doing.

"He will need another contract, and maybe it could be here. If he plays his best football, we will want him. But also other teams could be involved in the interest for him."
However, with the Englishman struggling to make an impact, failing to score and registering just one assist in 17 Premier League outings, it would perhaps make more sense to bring in a different winger during the summer transfer window.
That is what Aston Villa are planning to do, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who recently confirmed they have held discussions about a deal for Fulham winger Harry Wilson, who is set to be out of contract in the summer.
Romano said: "Aston Villa are among clubs keen on signing Harry Wilson as free agent in the summer, race open.
"Initial talks took place with decision to follow in the next months.
"He’s generated 16 G/A for Fulham this season; since December only Haaland and Bruno got more than him (12)."
Wilson enjoying "incredible" campaign with Fulham
Marco Silva has certainly been impressed by the Welshman's performances this season, with the Fulham manager saying: "His numbers are top, incredible. Very humble, a hard worker always."
Losing the winger on a free transfer would be a real blow for Silva, given that he has displayed a keen eye for goal throughout the campaign, amassing ten goals and seven assists in 32 matches across all competitions.

The Villans are in the race to sign a new defender.
Silva isn't alone in his admiration of the Wales international, as Emery has been reported to be a huge fan, and the fact he is set to be available without a transfer fee is an added bonus for Villa.
At 28-years-old, Wilson is showing signs he is hitting his peak, and it is exciting news the Villans have already held talks about a summer deal, but there could be competition from Wrexham, who are now planning a stunning move...
