Newcastle United leaked team news v Man Utd - Nick Woltemade decision made & 18y/o drafted in

Newcastle United team news v Manchester United: Eddie Howe will be forced to make changes at St James’ Park tonight.

Newcastle United are back in Premier League action against Manchester United at St James’ Park (8:15pm kick-off).

The Magpies will be looking to end a four game domestic losing streak on home turf against a side they have won each of their last three games against at St James’ Park.

But Man United and Newcastle head into the game in contrasting form with Michael Carrick’s side winning six and drawing one of their last seven and Eddie Howe’s side winning just one and losing five.

Both sides have some injury concerns heading into the game. Newcastle are already without Bruno Guimaraes (hamstring), Fabian Schar (ankle) and Emil Krafth (knee) for the match while Tino Livramento is nearing a return after being out since January with a hamstring injury.

Jacob Ramsey was forced off for Newcastle at half-time after scoring in the 3-2 defeat to Everton at St James’ Park on Saturday but is at St James’ Park and part of the matchday squad.

Ramsey was forced off due to illness and head coach Eddie Howe confirmed it’s an issue running through the camp ahead of the Man United match.

It was revealed that Nick Woltemade had been suffering from illness after the Everton match and was a doubt to face Man United on Wednesday.

“Jacob was in yesterday, trained fine, so a quick recovery from him,” Howe said. “There's obviously something, an illness, potentially there in the squad, because Nick Woltemade has gone down ill and we haven't seen him for a couple of days.”

When asked if Woltemade would be back involved, Howe added: “Let's see. We give him every chance.”

But Woltemade is not present at St James’ Park and will miss the match with the hope of recovering in time for Saturday’s FA Cup clash against Manchester City.

18-year-old forward Sean Neave returns to the matchday squad in Woltemade’s absence. Yoane Wissa and William Osula are the other striker options in the squad though Anthony Gordon has recently been leading the line.
