Napoli and Juventus are vying for Wolverhampton Wanderers duo André and Joao Gomes this summer.
That’s according to Calciomercato. The Italian website reports that the Wolves stars are firmly in the spotlight in Italy.
According to their information, the Wolves duo are being targeted by clubs around Europe this summer, including in Italy.
Serie A champions Napoli are already in negotiations with Gomes about a move this summer.
Napoli and Juventus efforts
His current deal at Molineux runs until June 2030. Reports elsewhere in Italy have stated that Antonio Conte’s side have been in contact with the 25-year-old’s agents.
There’s no mention of a potential transfer fee at this point. Wolves paid Flamengo €18.7m in 2023 and will surely want a big profit on that fee, regardless of relegation to the Championship.
Juventus, meanwhile, are ‘pursuing’ André. Their efforts seem to be less far along than Napoli’s for Gomes at this stage. But the Italian giants are interested in the 24-year-old and making moves.
Again, there’s no mention of what Juventus would pay. Wolves paid €22m for André in 2024 and, again, will surely want a profit on that figure.
What happens next with Andre and Gomes
Sport Witness can estimate Wolves’ asking price, though, thanks to a report last month. That report, from Bolavip, stated that Palmeiras were trying to sign the midfielder.
The Brazilian side made efforts to get a deal done but were scared off by Wolves demanding €40m.
That figure was far beyond their reach, and the deal was cancelled outright. It’s easy to imagine Wolves will make similar demands from Juventus if they move this summer.
Napoli’s interest in Joao Gomes is nothing new either. Indeed, Sport Witness covered a report on February 21st stating that the Italian side were ‘making moves’ to sign him from Wolves this summer. That followed various other reports making their interest clear.
Wolves Contracts, Values and Agent Clue
André has a Wolves contract lasting until 2029, and Transfermarkt estimate his value at €28m. He’s represented by Carlos Leite Sports.
Joao Gomes’ value is put at €40m, on a contract until 2030 with an option for a further year. Intriguingly, he’s represented by the same agency, which gives a hefty hint where these claims are coming from.
Given Wolves’ situation and almost certain relegation from the Premier League, it’s natural agents are at work to place their clients elsewhere. The duo are the two most valuable players on the Carlos Leite Sports books, and the agency won’t want them in the Championship.
