Man Utd now have the Premier League's best goal partnership after Newcastle link-up

Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro combined to score Manchester United’s equaliser against Newcastle at St James’ Park.

It was the fourth time this season that Bruno Fernandes has provided an assist for Casemiro in the Premier League, with the Brazilian scoring his sixth goal of the season in the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United.

Fernandes is now up to 14 assists in the 2025/26 season, putting him just six away from the record in a single campaign currently held by Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry.

United’s experienced midfield duo are playing some of their best football this season and their partnership is leading the way across the entire Premier League.

Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro are Premier League’s most productive goal duo

Fernandes and Casemiro are two of United’s most experienced leaders in the dressing room, and they are leading by example out on the pitch.

United’s equaliser was scored by Casemiro from a pinpoint Fernandes cross, which was the fourth time this season that the Brazilian has been assisted by his captain.

As pointed out by Statman Dave, Fernandes to Casemiro is now the most frequent assister-scorer combination in the entire Premier League. No duo has more goals than them across the entire division.
