Julian Nagelsmann is on the Manchester United shortlist to become the next permanent head coach this summer, and one big winner from this would be Joshua Zirkzee.
New reports have emerged this week claiming that Julian Nagelsmann is keen on the Manchester United job, with his time as Germany head coach set to end after the World Cup.
Nagelsmann is one of the top contenders, being considered among the best young tactical minds in Europe, and already having pedigree from managing Bayern Munich.
If appointed, Nagelsmann would be a fan of several United players, but he could potentially be a big benefit to Joshua Zirkzee.

Julian Nagelsmann knows Joshua Zirkzee very well
Nagelsmann and Zirkzee worked together at Bayern Munich, when the striker was a youngster trying to break into the first-team under the current German national team manager.
Speaking to Dutch outlet VI back in 2022 while Bayern boss, Nagelsmann predicted Zirkzee would become top-class if he could fix one weakness.
“He does some things exceptionally well; he’s a great talent. He could achieve anything with his stunning physique.

“He has everything it takes to become a top striker. But he needs to go a step further in certain situations. A little more punch in his actions and he’ll become a very good striker.”
United have failed to get a tune out of Zirkzee in the two seasons he has been at the club, but Nagelsmann seems to have a plan over how to help the Dutchman reach his top potential.

Joshua Zirkzee is his own worst enemy at Manchester United
Everybody loves Zirkzee as a character, with his attitude and impact on the squad morale being absolutely huge in creating a good atmosphere in the changing room.
However, on the pitch, Zirkzee hasn’t done near enough to justify his £36m transfer from 2024.
Most recently in his cameo against Crystal Palace, Zirkzee showcased his usual solid touches and link-up, however, thats never been his problem.
As a striker, you need to score goals. Zirkzee is a brilliant footballer, but even against Palace he had a handful of opportunities to score, only for timid shots to be blocked.
If he wants to even survive at the club to see a possible Nagelsmann arrival in July, he needs to be much better to end this season.
