Manchester United’s pursuit of midfield reinforcements this summer has now led to Andrey Santos from Chelsea, after a blow to the chances of signing Elliot Anderson.
The race for Manchester United to replace Casemiro is heating up, and the shortlist of potential signings is growing.
Top priority, Elliot Anderson is thought to be leaning toward Man City, which creates a need for United to look elsewhere, which isn’t an issue given the list of 10 plus midfielders being looked at.
Now, Andrey Santos can be added to this.

Manchester United considering a move to sign Andrey Santos
Speaking on the United Stand YouTube channel, Ben Jacobs has now claimed that one midfield option being looked at is Chelsea’s Santos.
“The only other name that I’ve heard, and I’ll kind of repeat it from the Garnacho talks, is Andrey Santos.
“And right now, I think less likely than it was when Man United and Chelsea were negotiating over Alejandro Garnacho because at that point, Santos was not really getting game time. And now he’s playing under a manager who knows him really well from Strasbourg.
“And as a consequence, Chelsea’s not for sale stance, which was said at the time when they were talking over Alejandro Garnacho, is probably one that you would expect them to double down on heading into the summer.”

Jacobs also added that United’s interest in Sandro Tonali could be in vain as he is dreaming of a return to Italy.
Santos might not be an immediate top contender, but should Anderson and Tonali be off the shortlist, there is every chance the Brazilian gets looked at closely.

Why Santos could be the new Casemiro for Manchester United
Manchester United have been interested in Santos before, with the Chelsea midfielder considered among the most exciting midfielders in the league.
Santos is a Brazilian midfielder, sharing similarities with Casemiro in terms of his hard tackling and impact with the ball.
The 21-year-old is a duel-winning machine, working relentlessly in midfield and would be an excellent addition for United to bolster the squad behind Kobbie Mainoo and another new signing.
Santos is far from the finished article, but he has the potential to be one of the best in the league with his qualities suited to what the Red Devils are looking for.
Already at 21, Santos is so well-rounded, and if available, United must make an attempt to sign him.
