The latest Man Utd transfer news and gossip ahead of the summer window.
United have prioritised a midfield refresh at the end of the season, with two additions anticipated in the position. Casemiro is set to depart as a free agent when his contract expires this summer, while Manuel Ugarte could be sold after he attracted interest in the winter window.
United have a preference to sign at least one midfielder with Premier League experience this summer and Forest star Anderson is currently viewed as the dream addition. There is also long-term interest in Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton, while Sandro Tonali is appreciated, and Joao Gomes is viewed as a potential bargain buy. It could be bad news in United's pursuit of Anderson, though, according to the latest transfer gossip.

Manchester United could lose out to Man City in their pursuit of Elliot Anderson this summer. Both clubs are interested in a move for the Nottingham Forest star, though recent reports suggest Anderson would prefer to move to City.
talkSPORT claim Anderson's preference is a move to the Etihad Stadium, while they also warn that it could cost a fee in the region of £70 million to sign him this year. Teamtalk go a step further as they claim the 23-year-old is 'close' to completing a move to City at the end of the season and that the transfer is ‘already effectively agreed.’
United are also in the market for a versatile forward this summer, with an interest in signing a left winger. Yan Diomande is a player of interest, but they face fierce competition to sign the RB Leipzig star at the end of the season. Teamtalk also state that Liverpool are interested in a move for the 19-year-old and view him as the ideal successor to Mohamed Salah.
The Telegraph also name United as one of the clubs interested in a move to sign Fulham centre-back Samuel Amissah this summer. The 18-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, with Arsenal and Chelsea also expected to compete for his signature. Amissah is a regular for England U19s and has been named on the Fulham first team bench seven times.
