Report: After Senne Lammens success, Man Utd scout Tony Coton spotted in Flint tracking Kit Margetson

Manchester United’s goalkeeping scout, Tony Coton, has become well known for his role in signing Senne Lammens and is now tracking Kit Margetson.

This time last year, the goalkeeping position was Manchester United’s biggest problem, but fast forward to now, and Senne Lammens has made that role his own.

Lammens was signed after Tony Coton’s key role in pushing for the Belgian to be moved for, ahead of Emi Martinez, and thankfully, the club listened.

Now, Coton has eyes on another exciting talent.

Kit Margetson attracting interest from Manchester United

According to Welsh footballing outlet Y Clwb Pel-Droed, Kit Margetson was the subject of interest for Manchester United goalkeeping scout Tony Coton.

The United figure was at the Cae Y Castell Football Stadium in Flint earlier this week to watch Margetson in action for Connah’s Quay Nomads against league title winners The New Saints.

Margetson is a highly rated young goalkeeper currently on loan from Swansea, with Coton interested enough to be one of the 287 spectators in attendance.

Sent on loan to the Cymru Premier for experience, Margetson has absolutely impressed, and Coton will like what he saw.

Coton’s presence has been confirmed to have been in order to watch Margetson, as Malcolm Allen revealed on commentary for Sgorio.

“I’m going to tell you the truth, he told me he’s watching Kit,” Allen revealed to Nic Parry.

“It’s great to see the Cymru Premier pulling in scouts from the biggest clubs in the world.

“He’s competent in what he’s doing. He’s growing up, and every time I see him play, he’s growing up in front of me.”

Who is Manchester United’s goalkeeping target Kit Margetson?

Margetson is a 19-year-old goalkeeper who currently plays for Connah’s Quay on loan from Swansea.

The teenager is the son of the current goalkeeping coach for the Wales national team, Martyn Margetson, which can only be a good thing for his development.

This season on loan, Margetson has started every game, keeping eight clean sheets, and has helped guide his loan club to second place and potential UEFA Conference League qualification.

He is a big talent with United, joined by Brighton & Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, and Liverpool in being keen on Margetson.
