Inside glamorous IWD lunch with Coleen Rooney, Helen Flanagan and Brooke Vincent among stars

Man United WAGs reunited! Danielle Gibson, Coleen Rooney, Yvonne O'Shea, Lisa Carrick and Hayley Fletcher at the Julie Perry Events International Women's Day Lunch in Salford

Friends new and old came together at the annual Julie Perry Events International Women’s Day Lunch which once again had a starry guest list at The Lowry Hotel in Salford. Coleen Rooney was joined by a host of her friends forged from their days cheering on their ex-Manchester United footballer husbands - including Lisa Carrick, wife of current Reds boss Michael Carrick and Hayley Fletcher, Yvonne O'Shea and Danielle Gibson.

Meanwhile Coronation Street's famous Webster sisters, aka actresses Helen Flanagan and Brooke Vincent were reunited on the red carpet for the day of celebrations on Friday. Looking a world away from their Corrie characters Sophie and Rosie though, the duo rocked glamorous ensembles with Helen in a pretty pink gingham dress, while Brooke was stylish in a polka dot suit and hat.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire were also well represented at the event, with stars of the show past and present in attendance including Tanya Bardsley, Lystra Adams and Nicole Sealey.

The event is organised by event planner to the stars Julie Perry as an uplifting celebration of women’s achievement and resilience, for a full afternoon of empowerment, inspiration and candid storytelling.

This year’s headline guest speaker was TV personality Charlotte Dawson, who gave a candid and fearless account of online bullying, sharing her personal experiences of trolling and the pressures that can come with visibility. In a powerful speaker slot titled “The Trolls and Tribulations of Fame,” Charlotte delivered her story in her trademark down-to-earth style, balancing warmth and humour with a clear message on resilience and self-worth.

In addition to Charlotte’s address, Victoria Price, Founder and Co-CEO of Emello, took to the stage to share her journey from corporate executive at Ernst & Young, working alongside female entrepreneurs and advising global brands including Prada, to founding her own luxury womenswear label.

Guests were also moved by a deeply personal talk from singer Lauren Jean, who shared her remarkable recovery story after suffering a stroke at just 17. Lauren spoke about the importance of acting FAST to diagnose a stroke, and how she has gone on to rebuild her life, running a marathon and writing music inspired by her experience.

“This lunch is about championing women in a way that feels real. Honest stories, genuine support, and the kind of room that makes you feel stronger for being in it,” said Julie Perry, Founder and Managing Director of Julie Perry Events. “I’m proud we’ve created an annual moment where women can connect, listen, laugh, and leave feeling energised. I also want to recognise my incredible all-female team as this event reflects the standards they deliver every day.”

Charlotte Dawson added: “People see the highlights, but they don’t always see what comes with it. I wanted to talk honestly about online trolling because it’s real. It can be brutal, and it affects more people than you’d think.

"If sharing my experiences helps even one person feel less alone or more confident in blocking out the noise, it’s worth it. I’m grateful to Julie Perry Events for creating a space where women can have these conversations.”

Sponsored by British luxury womenswear brand Emello, Lifestyle Interiors and Applied Nutrition, the event once again proved to be an uplifting and memorable celebration of female resilience, honesty and success and a standout date in Manchester’s social calendar.
