Now, the brand has received a seal of approval from one of the UK's most well-known chefs in Pierre White, who said he only needed two words to describe the ice cream.

In a social media post, Grandpa Greene's said Pierre White tried the ice cream at Old Trafford when Manchester United played Crystal Palace on Sunday, March 1.

The post read: "We had the pleasure of welcoming Marco Pierre White to try our ice cream. After tasting a few flavours, we asked him a simple question…

"'If you had to describe our ice cream in a few words, what would they be?'

"Marco’s answer: 'I only need two words: deliciously good.'"

Grandpa Greene's added that Pierre White was asked which flavour stood out the most to him, to which he responded by naming the "classic Old Fashioned White" which the brand says "really celebrates the quality of the milk the base behind every product and the simplicity of great ice cream".

The post concluded by saying: "Moments like this make all the hard work worthwhile. A huge thank you to Marco for stopping by and taking the time to taste what we do."

People in the comments offered their congratulations to Grandpa Greene's by saying the story was "amazing".
