Having fallen to a home defeat on Tuesday evening, Daniel Farke could have been forgiven for spending his Wednesday evening sitting nervously in front of the television as West Ham United and Nottingham Forest played. The two relegation rivals were away from home and facing testing fixtures, yet the Hammers came away with a win at Fulham, while Forest drew at Manchester City.

For Leeds United, it was a second successive disappointing night in the Premier League. While the image of Farke sat on the sofa hoping for a Fulham goal or for his good friend Pep Guardiola to help him out, is an easy one to conjure, it's about as far from the truth as you can get.

This week's break from relegation and Premier League matters will no doubt be a welcome one for the German boss and his players, but there's no sign the events of the last few days, or the fact Leeds are now four games without a win in the league, is having an effect on Farke.

"I don't panic at all, I am calm as always. Why should I be nervous? It was the first disappointing night at Elland Road for months," was Farke's response to the question of if he had been a little twitchy watching the midweek Premier League games.

"I'm not nail biting sitting on my sofa hoping West Ham lose or that Tottenham lose. The only thing that matters is what we do. The only result is what we do."

Farke's calmness comes from the healthy position Leeds find themselves in. They may not have won any of their last four league games, but they remain in 15th place in the table and look in a much stronger position that the likes of Tottenham who are in freefall or Forest, who can't seem to buy a win right now.

"At the moment we are on 31 points, you probably need 38 points to stay in this league," added Farke. "Perhaps it is an extraordinary season where you need one or two points more, but it is a fact we need seven to nine points to stay in the league. That's a fact.

"We have all the chances in the last six games to win those seven points, but before we have three games before that where we can try get points.

"We have Crystal Palace away, a home game with Brentford and Manchester United away. We can use those three games to ease the pressure for the last six games. But even in those last six games we have the chance. If we don't do that, we don't deserve to stay in the Premier League.

"I'm staying calm, concentrated and focus on winning those seven, perhaps nine points in the upcoming nine games. I am confident we have more than enough."
