Man United are reportedly eyeing up an ambitious signing ahead of the summer
Manchester United are in a strong position to qualify for the Champions League this season and are beginning forward planning for the summer transfer window with that in mind.
Michael Carrick’s side are currently sat in third place in the Premier League and defeats for rivals Aston Villa and Liverpool lessened the blow of a 2-1 loss at Newcastle last time out, Carrick’s first defeat as United boss.
The Red Devils’ summer spending at the beginning of the season has drawn praise with most summer signings performing well at Old Trafford, including the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Senne Lammens – while £73.7million buy Benjamin Sesko started his United career slowly but has begun to pop up with important goals.
Another attacker is thought to be within United’s sights for the summer, with a big-name PSG star thought to be at the top of their list.
Man United target massive Kvaratskhelia deal
According to reports by TEAMtalk, Man United are targeting a ‘jaw-dropping move’ for PSG winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, amidst reports of disharmony with some of his team-mates at the Champions League holders.
Kvaratskhelia signed for PSG in a £60m deal in January 2025 and became a European champion in his first season with the club but could soon find himself at the centre of transfer drama as United prioritise signing a new left-sided attacker.
Reporting continues that there are hints of ‘unrest’ with some of his PSG teammates, with several members of Luis Enrique’s first-team squad said to be ‘unimpressed’ with Kvaratskhelia and his tendencies to be ‘too selfish’ and make the wrong decisions on the field.
An issue which may sound the ‘red light’ for United as they target the Georgia winger, though, is his price tag. PSG will ‘almost certainly’ want to make a profit on the £60m they splashed on the 25-year-old and that might see the Red Devils’ summer budget heavily damaged, particularly amidst the belief that a midfield rebuild is the priority.
Arsenal and Liverpool are also named amongst the clubs which would be interested if Kvaratskhelia were to become available this summer, amidst the growing possibility that a transfer battle for one of Europe’s top wingers could be about to ensue.
