League One Latest: Job To Go At Plymouth Argyle, Manchester United Youngster Backed

**Financial pressure, loan uncertainty and a few telling dressing room messages have all shaped the latest news from around League One.**

While City continue to set the pace at the top, there is plenty going on elsewhere in the division. From Plymouth Argyle’s off-field concerns to updates involving Bradford City, Wigan Athletic and Port Vale, here are four stories from across League One.

Plymouth Argyle jobs at risk after restructure proposal

-------------------------------------------------------

**[Plymouth Argyle](https://staceywest.net/2026/02/07/sinking-the-pilgrims-plymouth-argyle-1-4-imps/) have [confirmed they are restructuring operations](https://www.itv.com/news/westcountry/2026-03-09/jobs-at-risk-for-plymouth-argyle-in-club-restructure) at the club, with jobs at risk as they try to deal with significant financial losses following relegation back to League One.**

According to ITV, a consultation process is now under way at Home Park after what the club described as ongoing financial pressure. Argyle returned to the third tier last season after dropping out of the Championship, and the fallout is now being felt away from the pitch as well as on it.

The Pilgrims had climbed into the second tier under Steven Schumacher in 2023 and managed to preserve that status initially, but the subsequent decline under Wayne Rooney and Miron Muslic has left the club facing a different sort of battle. There has been no confirmation yet as to how many positions might be affected.

> “The club can confirm it has proposed to staff a restructure of its operations.

>

> “In the past four years, the club has progressed in many areas. However, the return to League One, coupled with wider inflationary pressures, has resulted in the club incurring significant financial losses.

>

> “This is being proposed in order to address significant financial pressures, and to assist the club in trying to ensure long-term sustainability.”

It is another reminder that dropping into League One can have consequences far beyond the league table, and Plymouth now have to manage those off-field issues while trying to stay competitive on it.
