Man Utd fans pick out 10 potential signings Ineos should consider bringing to Old Trafford

Manchester United need to spend in summer 2026 to strengthen the squad. So who should be on the club’s list of targets?

A quiet transfer window in January has ramped up expectations for Manchester United to be especially active in the summer transfer window.

Casemiro’s confirmation that he will leave the club once his contract expires in June has underlined the very necessary need for midfield additions.

Over the past few weeks, Manchester United supporters on TalkingPoints have been discussing the club’s needs, suggesting and discussing a handful of names.

Man Utd fans discuss potential signings

Two Newcastle midfielders have been a topic of conversation, including one who did not even play in the recent game against Manchester United.

One fan wrote: “Tonali has undeniable quality in the engine department. That’s where we need an urgent fix.”

Another added: “Tonali is the one for me. His energy level is infectious, and he can score goals. I also like his temperament.”

A third Man Utd supporter had an alternative view, posting: “Bruno Guimaraes any day of the week.”

There is no doubt Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes would be tremendous additions, if Newcastle would actually sell to us. Casemiro is claimed to have recommended the latter to United.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton were also mentioned.

“I feel the likes of Wharton or Anderson have higher potential and would offer better value and longevity,” one fan wrote in response over Tonali.

Another added: “Anderson over Tonali. Slim margins, just feel like Anderson will grow a bit more.”

Possible Casemiro-replacements were not the only players linked.

One fan commented: “United should consider buying Somerville from West Ham.”

Somerville could be available at cut-price if West Ham get relegated. He has scored seven goals already this season despite their poor form.

Another relegation-threatened team is Tottenham, and Micky van de Ven is a player one supporter would like to see join the Red Devils.

“I would be in for him. He has pace to burn. He isn’t a naturally dirty player, and would fit right in!”

Another reader came up with an ambitious plan to swoop for Bayern Munich playmaker Jamal Musiala, who has just returned from an injury sustained at last year’s Club World Cup.

“Pay the money [for] Jamal Musiala currently the best player in Germany for Bayern Munich and he’s young.”

Another supporter suggested three potential names – players in the Bundesliga, Championship and La Liga.

“Yan Diomande Leipzig LW, Hayden Hackney that guy’s good. Pape Gueye the CM at Villareal.”

Michael Carrick previously worked with Hackney at Middlesbrough, while the club are said to have scouted Diomande over the past weekend.

Which of these players do you want to see Man Utd SIGN in 2026?
