Manchester United scouts were present to watch RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande ahead of the summer transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his YouTube channel that Manchester United scouts were present to watch Yan Diomande feature in the Bundesliga match between RB Leipzig and Augsburg on Saturday afternoon.
Interim head coach Michael Carrick confirmed United could sign a winger in the summer after identifying it as a position lacking in depth.
Diomande is a generational talent and he has already netted 11 goals for Leipzig this season. His 11th came in the 2-1 win over Augsburg.

Yan Diomande scores and impresses in front of Man Utd scouts
“United maintain a concrete interest in the player. Man United scouts were in attendance for the last game played by Leipzig against Augsburg,” Romano said in his update on Diomande.
“He is playing very well recently, not just about the goals and assists, but he is an electric winger, very good one-vs-one and very fast.”
Romano is not wrong – Diomande lit up the pitch as Leipzig beat Augsburg 2-1 to go fifth in the Bundesliga.

Yan Diomande is perfect fit for Ineos model
Since the Ineos takeover, United have targeted wonderkids and Diomande is the latest player on the club’s transfer radar.
At 19 years old, Diomande is one of the most exciting prospects in European football.

Instead of signing ready-made superstars, Ineos have preferred to sign younger players who can fulfil their potential at Old Trafford. The oldest signing made by Ineos so far is 26 years old.
Diomande prefers to play on the right wing which isn’t ideal for United given that Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo are already competing for positions, but Ineos will not pass up on the opportunity to bring a future world-class star to Old Trafford.
