The latest Man Utd transfer news and gossip as they look to strengthen their first-team squad.

United would like to add a versatile forward to their squad at the end of the season, with the preference to sign someone who is a natural on the left wing. There is a belief that United need greater balance in their forward line, with the addition of a specialist wide player who is a natural in that role.

The club have made a midfield refresh their priority this summer, which means any move for a forward could be dictated by how much budget is left after they have solved their biggest problem position. Diomande is one player of interest, though a move for him could be complicated by the £87m price tag that was placed on him during the winter window.

United have 'concrete interest' in Diomande

Manchester United will keep their options open as they look to strengthen at left wing this summer, with Yan Diomande an obvious candidate for any club. The 19-year-old has been a star performer for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga and notorious transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano claims United officials were in position to watch his last match.

"Man United are probably going to look for left wingers in the market. Not only about midfielders," Romano said in his latest YouTube video.

"One of the players that has been on Manchester United's radar for the last six months, is Yan Diomande. There is going to be a lot of movement around Yan Diomande. It does not mean Man United are going to sign Yan Diomande, but they maintain a concrete interest in the player.

"Man United scouts were in attendance for the last game played between RB Leipzig and Ausburg. He is an electric winger, very good one v one, very fast. He is a player that several clubs are following, not just Man United. But the presence of Man United to follow the player is showing they are keeping a close eye on the player.

"They have several names on the shortlist for the left winger. They wanted Semenyo in the January window, before Ruben Amorim got sacked. They are assessing several players."
