Michael Carrick’s unbeaten run as United’s temporary head coach came to an end last time out following a 2-1 defeat against Newcastle at St. James’ Park.
Benjamin Sesko, who played a crucial role in United’s impressive run throughout February, will be hoping to contribute positively when the Red Devils try to get back to winning ways against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Benjamin Sesko comes out on top of Premier League Fans’ vote
Despite not getting his first start under Carrick until the end of February, as United beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Old Trafford, Sesko played a key role as a substitute by coming off the bench to score crucial goals.
Sesko did exactly that against Fulham, West Ham and Everton.
As a result, Sesko was voted United Player of the Month, but he was also listed as a nominee for the Premier League Player of the Month.

The winner of the Premier League award is to be announced on Friday, but the Slovenian striker has already taken the fans’ vote.
Sesko was crowned the PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month for February, as confirmed by the official Manchester United website.
It is the first time Sesko has won the award, so he will be hoping that it’s the first of many.

The last time a United player won this award was in October 2025 when Bryan Mbeumo topped the poll.
Like February, United went the entire month unbeaten in the Premier League.
Mbeumo will be hoping to rediscover that level of form in March, after struggling to have a major impact on games since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Cameroon international is United’s top scorer this season with 10 goals across all competitions. United fans will feel that there’s plenty of room for more before the end of the season.
