South American buys Old Trafford flat – Ready for Manchester United future

A video from Paraguay has offered a glimpse into how seriously Manchester United youngster Diego León is taking his move to England – right down to where he lives.

Journalist Christian Martin from Versus Sport recently visited León at his brand new flat in the Manchester area. And instead of settling deep in the city centre, the young South American chose a place with a direct view of Old Trafford.

During the visit, Martin shows the view from the apartment, pointing out the canals and then the stadium itself in the distance. From the window, the famous ground is clearly visible. As the journalist puts it while filming: “Over there you can see Old Trafford – you have a direct view.”

For a teenager who has just arrived from Paraguay, it is a small but symbolic detail. León appears to have positioned himself quite literally next to the club he hopes to break into.

The video is relaxed, but it still reveals plenty about the player’s mindset. When Martin reminds him he is the first Paraguayan in Manchester United’s history, León responds simply that he is “working hard” and “fighting for it”. And as we covered earlier, even Michael Carrick is backing him.

Settling into Manchester United life

León also briefly describes his daily routine since arriving in England. Training with senior players has clearly left an impression on him.

He mentions seeing established names such as Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martínez around the training ground. Waking up to the view of Old Trafford each morning is now part of that experience.

“Watching this view every morning, then going to training and seeing Casemiro, Bruno, Licha,” León says in the clip while standing by the window.

For a young player still trying to earn minutes, those details matter. They underline how early he is in the process, but also how close he is to the environment he wants to succeed in.

Our take: clear focus on Manchester United

The most interesting part of the video is not the flat itself, but the message behind it.

South American prospects often arrive in Europe expecting a loan move almost immediately. That path is common, particularly at clubs with large squads.

León’s situation looks slightly different. Nothing in the clip hints at a player planning a temporary exit. Instead, everything about the visit reinforces the idea that his focus is entirely on establishing himself at Manchester United. His agentrecently made sure that was the message.

Even his choice of apartment reflects that mindset. Living with Old Trafford in view every day feels symbolic for a young player trying to make his mark at the club.
