Manchester United are expected to cut ties with the player on a permanent basis this summer
Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, who is currently out on loan at Aston Villa, has held ‘exploratory talks’ with Borussia Dortmund over a summer return, according to a report by TEAMtalk. The attacker is set to leave Old Trafford on a permanent basis in the next transfer window. He has fallen out of favour with his parent club and is poised to depart full-time soon.
Manchester United update regarding Jadon Sancho
Sancho’s contract at United expires at the end of the season. Therefore, he is due to become a free agent in June as things stand. The Red Devils are expected to lose him for nothing which would be a blow.
The forward’s move hasn’t worked out and he is in limbo at this moment in time. He was snapped up back in 2021 after catching the eye in the Bundesliga with Dortmund. The ex-England international has since made 83 appearances in all competitions and has scored 12 goals.
Sancho, who is from London, was shipped out on loan to Chelsea before Aston Villa came calling. He was given the green light to leave last year on a temporary basis and he has since made 28 outings for Unai Emery’s side since his switch to Villa Park. However, he has scored only once.
Emery said last month: “The first part of the season was not enough. He was working, he was trying, but he was not achieving the performance we needed. But the second part of the season, we are involving now, one month ago, he’s getting better.
“He’s getting this challenge, like something for him, for us. I spoke with him a few times about the challenge we have with him, he has with us, and he must be very, very demanding himself and consistent with himself, like he is now, but more and more.
“It’s not time to wait for anyone. We need now to be focused everybody and to be everybody with their wishes, their qualities and their preparation to play helping the team.”
