Bryan Mbeumo has been one of the best signings of the last decade for Manchester United, and his success was always likely when considering his dedication.
Signed as a Premier League-proven forward, Manchester United expected immediate returns from Bryan Mbeumo, and he has repaid that faith so far.
Mbeumo has joined Bruno Fernandes in a small group of success stories, which is quickly increasing under Ineos, and the Cameroonian is hardly a shock, as we fully expected his quality.
Mbeumo has scored 10 goals this season, with three assists, sitting as the top scorer despite playing just 25 games in a quieter-than-usual season. The quality Mbeumo has isn’t by accident, as he reveals what he does in his own time to be so good.

Bryan Mbeumo admits he trains privately three times a week
Speaking to French streamer Zack Nani on a live stream this week, Mbeumo revealed the work that he does behind the scenes in order to be his best.
“So on my side, I actually have two individual coaches. I have one coach who works more on the field. On days when my training is very light, I train with him on the pitch to work on technical things and position-specific work.
“And I have another coach who focuses more on strength training — athleticism, explosiveness, quickness — so that’s in the gym at my home.
“He’s from the United States and has been working with me for about two years now. I had him with me in London last year, and he followed me to Manchester as well. I use him about two to three times a week.

“Someone actually came all the way from the United States to live in England just to work with me.”
This shows Mbeumo’s dedication to improving and explains why he has been such a hit for Manchester United. The mentality he has is a big reason why Mbeumo is brilliant, with his decision to put in individual work being massive.

Mbeumo has turned out to be Manchester United’s Salah
Before joining, Mbeumo was compared to Mohamed Salah, with Jamie Carragher even comparing the two, which excited many United supporters, but we might not have understood what this meant.
While he’s been great, Mbeumo’s all-around performances can sometimes fail to be standouts. However, where his Salah gene comes in is with his inevitability.
Bruno Fernandes also has this, as even when not playing well, he has that one moment ability to create something or score a goal. For this reason, he can never be ruled out.
What Mbeumo does need to do, though, is start taking hold of games as he did for Brentford every week.
Mbeumo used to take the ball, cut inside, and score with his left foot, but he hasn’t really done this or even tried to make moves like this enough at United.
Taking risks like this would elevate him and see his best return. But maybe this will just be the natural progression next season.
