Lewis Hall is not currently among the top earners at Newcastle United.
Newcastle United are reportedly prepared to offer Lewis Hall a mega pay rise to keep potential suitors at bay.
Manchester United are one of several clubs linked with a potential summer swoop for the defender. Unlike other Toon big hitters, NewcastleWorld does not anticipate Hall to consider his options this summer.
However, there is recognition within the hallways at St James’ Park that Hall needs to be tied down. He has arguably been Newcastle’s best player this season - throwing his hat into contention to be England’s starting left-back at the World Cup.
Newcastle United prepare Lewis Hall offer
According to the i, the Toon hierarchy want to improve Hall’s terms to keep him firmly motivated on Tyneside. He is thought to currently earn around £40,000 per week.
While mega bucks to the average Joe, those figures trail fringe stars like Joe Willock and Emil Krafth. Newcastle are keen to propel Hall into the top earners to show how valuable he is to the side.
Hall was Newcastle’s standout performer as he pocketed global superstar Lamine Yamal on Tuesday. The Magpies will be hoping for another stellar showing when they travel to the Camp Nou next week.
Speaking post-match, the left-back felt aggrieved that Newcastle did not hold on for the victory. Hall said: “If we're taking the game to them at 1-0 for the second leg, I think we're in a really good position. I thought we were outstanding today and the last goal doesn't reflect our performance.
“We can be really proud of the effort we put in today. They're obviously a top side and we knew the game was going to be difficult, but yeah, like I said, we can be so proud of ourselves. Whenever we play here, we want to start sharp. Anyone who plays against us knows that's what we want to do.
“We did that well today. Our energy levels and fitness levels carried on throughout the whole 90 minutes. Like I said, I think we deserved more from the game.”
