Manchester United appear poised to capitalise on West Ham in the event of relegation and plan a cut-price London Stadium raid at the end of the season.
That’s the latest from talkSPORT’s football correspondent Alex Crook, who has revealed the Red Devils’ interest in a Hammers midfielder if the club are relegated this season. Furthermore, Crook has added that the young Portuguese star will “want to leave if they’re relegated”, quashing any lingering hopes that West Ham might retain the player’s services.
The report also mentions that Man U would look to do a cut-price deal which seems to be a common assumption. Possibly rival clubs smell blood given West Ham’s precarious financial situation but Fernandes won’t come cheap.
Fernandes is wanted by Manchester United
Old Trafford move mooted if West Ham go down
Fernandes has been mentioned alongside Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton as potential candidates for a move to Old Trafford. The 22-year-old shares the same agent — Jorge Mendes — as Nuno Espírito Santo, but seemingly that will be of little help if we drop out of the league.
