Aston Villa will take a late check on Matty Cash’s fitness before their trip to Manchester United on Sunday.
The right-back missed Villa’s 1-0 win in Lille on Thursday due to a calf injury.
Cash suffered the problem in Villa’s defeat to Chelsea last week, having only recently returned from another injury which saw him sidelined for games against Newcastle and Brighton.
John McGinn returned from injury in Villa’s win at Stade Pierre Mauroy, but Youri Tielemans remains some weeks away from coming back from his injury which has seen him sidelined since the 2-0 win at Newcastle in January.
“Matty Cash, he is progressing well. Tomorrow we will see if he can be with us on Sunday or not,” Emery said when asked for team news ahead of the game at Old Trafford.
“Ross Barkley and Alysson are not in the list for Europe, but they come back for Sunday. It is good news that McGinn is back.
“Tielemans is progressing well, but is still working individually.”
Following their 2-1 win in December, Villa are looking to complete the league double over United for the first time since 1954-55.
United, however, have lost just two of their last 37 home league games against Villa, going down 1-0 both times in December 2009 and September 2021.
